What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
A media institute that we thought could distribute our film, could be Rogue Pictures. We thought Rogue pictures would be the best institution to distribute our film as they have many horror/horror comedy/comedy films in there library. Rogue Pictures is owned by a label called Focus Features who are owned by one of the biggest film makers/distributors in the world, Universal. This would make it for our film to get into cinemas across the UK due to their vast resources. Rouge picture will not only distribute our film but they may also help with finding suitable conditions for our film to be filmed in, raising finance and help finding key personal, such as; directors, cast etc. to help with the process of our film. Rogue work with low budget films all under $12,000,000 such as, Shaun of the Dead (horror comedy), Seed of Chucky (horror) and The Strangers (horror). As they work with many horror films they will be able to help us possible make our film a great succes on a low budget like another one of their films Hot Fuzz, which had a budget of £8,000,000. Being owned by Focus Features who are owned by Universal, Rogue pictures will have no trouble advertising the film to our target audience to gain their interest.
